“A Hindu Astrology classic in the making! If you are interested in learning to read horoscopes, buy this book, study it, and practice the Systems Approach -- then move on to the classics. I've been teaching, studying and practicing Indian Astrology for quite a while and believe me, there is an overwhelming number of methods, opinions, and technical details that comprise its canon. I have seen many students of Astrology getting mired in the details of the many techniques and arguing about origins, translations etc. - all of which is interesting, but does not teach how to read charts. The Systems’ Approach synthesizes and consequently simplifies the Indian systems by working with a handful of tried and true techniques that can give even beginners a grasp on what the horoscope is trying to say. Mind you, if you want an explanation for everything that the Parasara, Jaimini and Tajika systems have to offer, be prepared to buy several hundred dollars worth of books and pray for a guide to help you through the maze of techniques (some knowledge of Sanskrit would be helpful as well).
